First three Vrat are to be done throughout the year - for 12 months.

Vishok Shashthee Vrat
(Chap 38) Yudhishthir said - "Bhagavan, I have heard that by worshipping Bhagavaan Soorya on Shashthee all kinds of diseases are cured and all wishes are fulfilled." Krishn said - "I tell you the method of Vishok Shashthee Vrat. By keeping fast on this day nobody grieves. In Maagh Maas, on the 5th day of Shukla Paksh, in the morning take bath with black sesame seed water, take Khichadee as food and observe Brahmcharya in the night. Next day, on the 6th day, after taking bath, make a lotus flower of gold, imagine it as Soorya Bhagavaan, worship it with red sandalwood paste, red Karaveer flowers (red Kaner), two red clothes, Dhoop, lamp and sweets. And pray with this Mantra. ( see the Mantra on p 417) Feed a Braahman, drink cow's urine and donate jaggery, grains, two clothes and gold to him. On next day, the 7th day keeping quiet take food without oil and salt and hear Puraan also. Thus after doing this for one year for both the 6th days of the month, on the 7th day of Shukla Paksh a pitcher with golden lotus flower, a full bed and a milking cow. Who does this Vrat thus he remains free from grief, disease, and other misfortunes. If somebody does this with some wish, his wish is surely fulfilled; if somebody does this without any wish then he gets Moksh. Who does this fast even on one day he never gets grieved."

Kamal Shashthee Vrat
(Chap 39) Krishn said - "Now I will tell you about Kamal Shashthee Vrat. Keeping fast on this day one is freed from all kinds of sins and becomes happy. In Maargsheersh Maas, on the 5th day of Shukla Paksh keeping fast for the whole night, keep fast on next day, the 6h day. On 7th day donate a pitcher with golden lotus and golden fruit and sugar. In this way he should do it on both 6th days for one year. Worship with these 12 names in 12 months - Bhaanu, Ark, Ravi Brahmaa, Soorya, Shukra, Hari, Shiv Shreemaan, Vibhaavasu, Twashtaa, and Varun, in this order. Saying "Bhaanu May Preeyataam", "Ark May Preeyataam" do the Poojan on the 6th day and donate the things on 7th day. In the end, after one year, worship a Braahman couple, donate clothes, jewelry, pitcher full of sugar, golden lotus and golden fruit saying this Mantra. ( see the Mantra on p 418 ) Whoever does this Vrat he becomes free from all kinds of sins and frees his 21 levels of descendents up and below him. Who hears its importance he also gets Punya of this." [Matsya Puraan, Chapter 76 describes the same Vrat as Phal Saptamee]

Mandaar Shashthee Vrat
(Chap 40) Krishn said - "Now I tell you Mandaar Shashthee Vrat which destroys all sins and fulfills all wishes. In Maagh Maas, on the 6th day of Shukla Paksh, one should keep fast, worship Braahman and eat Mandaar flowers. In the night he should sleep. On this day, in the morning, make a lotus flower of eight petals with black sesame seeds in a copper pot. Establish an idol of Soorya Bhagavaan holding a lotus flower. Worship lotus petals from the eastern one with golden Ark flowers and other things as follows. (see p 418-419) Worship Soorya Bhagavaan with white cloth, sweets and garland etc. On next day eat salt and oil facing eastward. Thus keep fast on the 6th day of Shukla Paksh and do the ending on the 7th day. In the end of the year, the same idol should be kept on a pitcher (Kalash), donate clothes, cow, gold etc to Braahman to his capacity; and read this Mantra (see the Mantra on p 419) at the time of giving donation. Whoever does this Vrat with this method he lives in Swarg for one Kalp and who listen s to its importance he also becomes free from all kinds of sins."

Lalitaa Shashthee Vrat
(Chap 41) Krishn said - "This Vrat is done in Bhaadrapad Maas, on the 6th day of Shukla Paksh. On that day whoever wants beauty, Saubhaagya and children, should take bath in a river and bring a filled bamboo pot of sand from there. Establish that pot in a Mandap (canopy) adorn with cloth on top, light a lamp and worship Lalitaa Gauree. Keep fast on that day, offer 108, or 28 Pushpaanjali of each of Champak, Karaveer (Kaner), Ashok, Maalatee, blue lotus, Ketakee and Tagar flower along with rice with this Mantra. (see the Mantra on p 419) Offer Suhaal, Laddoo, cucumber, bitter gourd, egg plant, etc, Dhoop, lamp, clothes, jewelry etc to Devee. After worshipping with this keep awake in the night singing and dancing. Next day carry that idol with instruments to the bank of a river. Worship it there and give all Poojaa material to a Braahman and do idol Visarjan in the river.

After coming home, do Havan, worship married women, feed 15 maidens and 15 Braahman and give Dakshinaa with this Mantra. ( see the Mantra on p 419 ) Then bid them farewell saying "Lalitaa Preetiyuktaa Astu". Who do this Vrat, there is nothing scarce to them."
