9-Bhavishya Puraan, 3-Pratisarg (4), p 361-364 The fourth
Part of Pratisarg Parv of Bhavishya Puraan is very important with the viewpoint
of history. In this part history of all the four legs of Sat Yug, Tretaa Yug,
Dwaapar Yug and Kali Yug is given. Besides, the history of the previous births
of many Aachaarya, saints, Bhakt poets, is also given. They are said to be the
Avataar of 12 Aaditya, 11 Rudra, 8 Vasu, or 2 Ashwinee Kumaar. Special treatment
is given to Chaitanya Mahaaprabhu and that he got absorbed in Jagannaath Jee.
But there are some incoherencies also which create doubts in their originality.
Chaitanya Mahaaprabhu (Chap 21) Soot Jee said - "Hearing this Krishn Chaitanya said to Bhagavaan - "Bhagavan, Please tell us about this in detail for the welfare of the world." Jagannaath Jee said - "In ancient time Maharshi Kashyap's son Kanv's wife was a Devtaa woman named Aaryaavatee. By the order of Indra both went to Saraswatee River's banks and prayed Saraswatee Devee with Ved Sookt. After one year Devee got pleased and came there and gave him Var for the prosperity of Aaryaavart. Because of that Var he had 10 sons who were of Aarya nature - Upaadhyaaya, Deekshit, Paathak, Shukla, Mishra, Agnihotree, Dwivedee, Trivedee, Paandya and Chaturvedee.* * Note - See also Bhavishya Puraan, 3/5, where the Muni's name has been given as Kaashyap, not Kashyap, and these 10 names are of Muni Kaashyap's sons. There is nowhere mentioned Kanv's name neither under Kaashyap's name, nor under Kashyap's name. They pleased Saraswatee Jee, and she gave them her 10 daughters - Upaadhyaayee, Deekshitaa, Paathakee, Shuklikaa, Mishraanee, Agnihotrinee, Dwivedinee, Trivedinee, Paandyaayanee and Chaturvedinee. They all had 16 sons each from their husbands. They all led their names as their Gotra (clan) - Kashyap, Bharadwaaj, Vishwaamitra, Gotam, Jamadagni, Vashishth, Vats, Gautam, Paraashar, Garg, Atri, Bhrigu, Angiraa, Shringee, Kaatyaayan, Yaagyavalkya. 16 sons are known for each of these names. By the order of Saraswatee, Kanv came to Mishra (Egypt), taught Sanskrit to 10,000 Mlechchh and came back to Brahmaavart. Those Mlechchh pleased Saraswatee. Devee appeared after five years and converted them into Shoodra.. They all became sculptors and had many sons. There were 2,000 Vaishya also among those people. There was a man named Prithu who was very faithful to Kashyap. He did Tapasyaa for 12 years to please him. Pleased with him and with the help of Devtaa he appointed him as the king of Kshatriya and gave him Raajputra Pur. He was married to Raajanyaa named girl and had a son named Maagadh. Kanv gave him Maagadh Desh in east. After that Kashyap's son Kaashyap went to Swarg. After Kaashyap had left for Swarg, those Mlechchh pleased Indra through Yagya. Indra got very sad at this so he again came on Prithvi with his brother. There was a Braahman named Jin and his wife's name was Jayanee. They both were born from Kashyap and Aditi in Keekat Desh. Aaditya were born from them for the welfare of people. There is a city named Bodhgayaa on the banks of the river named Karmnaashaa, there they learned Bauddh Shaastra*, argued and obtained the knowledge of the Ved from those Shoodra and went to Vishaalaa (Badaree Kshetra). There they woke up Muni sitting in Samaadhi and imparted Ved to them. Since then all Devtaa left earth for Swarg. Mlechchh people became Bauddh and others started following Ved. * Note - This shows that this happened after Bauddh Dharm had got matured - maybe a little before Jesus Christ. Bodhgayaa is situated on the banks of Phalgu River. Karmnaashaa River makes the border of Rohtaas, Gaazeepur, Bhojpur, and Banaaras districts now a days. By the grace of Saraswatee Aarya increased a lot in number. They offered Havya and Kavya to Devtaa and Pitar. After 2,700 years of Kali Yug had passed, Maya named Asur was sent on Prithvi by king Bali. He became famous by the name of Shaakya Sinh Guru and increased Daitya by the name of Gautamaachaarya. He established Maayaa mechanisms at all Teerth places. Whoever went there, became Bauddh. As a result of this, Buddh Dharm had spread all over. Approximately 100 billion (10 Crore) people became Bauddh. Remaining 500,000 (5 Lac) went to mountains. Agni Vanshee kings defeated Bauddh through the force of Ved and established Aarya in the south of Vindhya after teaching them culture. And 500,000 people settled in the north of Vindhya Parvat in Aaryaavart area." Soot Jee further said - "Chaitanya Mahaaprabhu became follower of Ved and Jagannaath's disciple after hearing all this. Jagannaath Jee also got very happy to receive Shukladatt's son Nityaanand. Nityaanand also saluted him and became his disciple. Jagannaath performed the Abhishek of both of them and appointed them as Mahatwa. Since then Mahatwa status started on Prithvi. Both, Nityaanand and Mahaaprabhu, told their disciples that whoever will have Darshan of Jagannaath Jee here he will attain Swarg. Whoever will take Prasaad here he will be rich and learned in Ved for millions of lives. Who takes bath in Indradyumn Sar (pond) after doing Darshan of Krishn near Maarkandeya Vat tree (banyan tree), he never comes back on earth. Who ever will hear this Kathaa with Shraddhaa, he will also get the fruit of going to Jagannaath Puree. Chaitanya told the importance of Bhagavaan Jagannaath Jee thus. Jagannaath Jee also supported him and disappeared. In the meantime Kali requested Bali to do something about it. Bali called Maya Daitya again and said - "Sukandar named Daitya is always ready for our uplifting, so you take his help." Maya came to earth with 100 Daitya and trained them in Rekhaa Ganit (geometry) of 21 chapters along with Jyotir Ganit. Then those Mlechchh built machines in seven cities and because of those Machines all the people living there became Mlechchh. Seeing this Chaitanya's disciples went to those Puree and other places to fail their efforts with Vaishnav Mantra. Raamaanad came to Ayodhyaa and he turned over that Yantra and converted them all to Vaishnav. People used to mark their forehead with Trishool mark with white and red color, wear Tualasee necklace and pronounce Raam's name.* * Note - It seems that this description is to convert those people who were forcedly converted to Muslims back to Hindu by Sukandar, by Raamaanand and Chaitanya Mahaaprabhu. Later Dayaanand also followed the same method. Nimbaaditya went to Kaanchikaa Puree. Vishnuswaamee went to Haridwaar, Madhwaachaarya went to Mathuraa. Shankaraachaarya (not the Aadi Shankaraachaarya), with the permission of Raamaanuj, went to Kaashee Puree. Raamaanuj went to Totaadri. Varaahmihir came to Ujjayinee. Vaanee Bhooshan came to Kaanyakubj. Dhanvantari went to Prayaag, Bhattojee went to Utpal Aranya. Ropan came to Ishtikaa. Jayadev came to Dwaarakaa. Thus Vaishnav, Shaiv, and Shaakt all started increasing in number. Shaakt were Nir-Gun, and Vaishnav were Sa-Gun, and Shaiv were both Nir-Gun and Sa-Gun. Nityaanand took Samaadhi in Shaantipur, Hari in Nadiyaa, Kabeer in Maagadh Desh (Magahar), Raayadaas in Kalinjar, and Sadhan in Naimish Aranya area. So Maya etc Daitya went back to Bali failed in carrying out their objective.
