Sarg 62-Raam's Vilaap-1

All Gyaan (knowledge) of Raam got lost in the grief of separation of Seetaa. He cannot Seetaa still He is wailing for Her. He again said - "Hey Seetaa, You loved flowers very much then why are you hiding behind Ashok trees. Why are hiding behind banana trees? To hide your banana tree-like trunks? Why don't you come outside? This much fun is enough. Come here, this hut is empty without you.

O Lakshman, Surely She has been abducted by Raakshas. These deer with their eyes filled with tears are saying that Raakshas have eaten my Seetaa. Now my mother Kaikeyee's wish has been fulfilled.  I came here with Seetaa and will go back without Her. How will I enter my palace chambers? People will call me pitiless and weak when I will go back to Ayodhyaa. And when Raajaa Janak will ask our welfare then how will I face him? When he will hear that his daughter is now not in this world, he will surely faint. Instead, I prefer not to go to Ayodhyaa without Her, because I cannot live even in Swarg without Her.

Therefore Hey Lakshman, You leave me here and go back to Ayodhyaa, because I will surely die in separation of Seetaa. You tell Bharat for me that I authorize him to rule Prithvi bowing to Kaushalyaa, Sumitraa and Kaikeyee. You tell everything about Seetaa and me to Kaushalyaa." Hearing this Lakshman got whey-faced, and Raam got dejected in separation of Seetaa.

Sarg 63-Raam's Vilaap-2

Raam was in great anguish, He again said to Lakshman - "Nobody else is sinner like me on the whole Prithvi, because I am facing troubles one by one. It shows that I have sinned a lot in my previous life. Hey Lakshman, I am deprived of my kingdom, separated from my people, grieved of father's death, I tolerated all grievances, but Seetaa's separation is intolerable for me. My other grievances [which were buried in the soil of time] have now come back to life with this grief.

Hey Lakshman, I am sure that on abducting that meek lady must have wept bitterly, must have cried a lot while Raakshas were abducting Her by skyway. Her hair was so beautiful, but at that time it would be lusterless. Her beautiful neck was to wear beautiful necklaces but Raakshas must have cut it and drunk Her blood. She must have cried a lot while being abducted in this uninhibited forest. [Sometimes I think that maybe She has gone to Godaavaree Gangaa because She loved it very much], but She didn't use to go without me [then how come She went alone there]. Hey Soorya, You tell me about my Seetaa because you know everything. Or O Wind, you tell me about my Seetaa, because you are everywhere present."

Seeing Raam's condition, Lakshman again tried to console Him and requested to search for Seetaa [with cool mind]. Because lack of courage can sink anybody under such a grief. But Raam didn't pay any attention to Lakshman's words.

Sarg 64-In Search of Seetaa

Raam said - "Lakshman, You go to Gadaavaree bank and find out about Seetaa there. Maybe She has gone there to pluck lotus flowers." Lakshman immediately went to the bank of Godaavaree and came back without Her. He said - "I searched Her there thoroughly but She does not seem to be there." Raam got very sad and lost His consciousness. On gaining consciousness, He Himself went to the bank of Godaavaree and asked Gangaa about Seetaa. Everybody knew where was Seetaa but nobody told Raam that Raavan had abducted Her because of his fear.

Rishi told Godaavaree to tell about Seetaa but she didn't tell anything about Her whereabouts because of fear of Raavan. Raam said - "Godaavaree doesn't even reply my question. How will I tell this to Her parents. Raam said to Lakshman - "What I will say to Raajaa Janak and my mother Kaushalyaa in the absence of Vaidehee? Where has She gone really? My nights will be long in the absence of Vaidehee. I want to ramble all these places of Gangaa, Jansthaan, mountains if only Seetaa is available here.

Lakshman, Now this night will be terrible for me without Seetaa. I will search Her everywhere. Then he saw some deer. Why these deer are looking at me? It seems that they want to say something to me but I am not able to understand their signs." Then Raam asked those deer - "O deer, Where is my Seetaa?" Deer jumped into air very high and ran towards south uttering something. They were running in that direction and used to look back at Raam repeatedly while running.

Raam asked Lakshman - "Why are these animals running away in Southern direction?" Now Lakshman understood their signs a little and said to Raam - "When you asked "where is Seetaa" they got up and stood up and showed the way towards south, therefore we should search Seetaa towards south. Maybe we can find Seetaa there or some information about Her." Hearing this Raam proceeded towards south.

On their way, they found some fallen flowers. Lakshman said to Raam - "These flowers are of Seetaa, because I gave them to Her and She entwined them in Her plait." Raam said - "The Sun has taken care of them so well that they are not withered yet." Then Raam asked mountains - "Have you seen my beautiful Seetaa?" But they also did not tell anything about Her. Raam said to them angrily - "You will be destroyed by my fire-like arrows and when you will be without trees, fruits and flowers, nobody will live on you. Lakshman, I want to dry up this Gaodaavaree with my arrows if she did not tell me about Seetaa today,"

In this way when Raam was ready to burn down everything He saw a gigantic footprint of a Raakshas and the footprints of Vaidehee. and nearby them were a broken bow and a broken quiver and a broken chariot. Seeing all this Raam got extremely sad and said to Lakshman - "See these are tiny gold bells which were in Seetaa's jewelry. This is Her necklace and see this blood also on the ground. Lakshman, It seems that Raakshas have cut Seetaa in pieces here and eaten Her. A deadly crash has occurred here between two Raakshas. This bow is studded with gems, pearls etc so it is not certain that these things (arrows, chariot etc) are of Raakshas or Devtaa.

This golden armor is shining like rising Sun and is studded with lapis gem beads. Whose huge gold armor can it be? And this is a royal umbrella lying here which has so many ornaments, whose is this? These donkeys are laden with gold are lying here dead, whose are they? This golden chariot is also shining like a flaring fire, whose chariot it might be? Even these golden arrows which are as thick as the chariot's axle are lying here broken, whose are they?

Lakshman, You can see these two quivers are packed with arrows but are completely shattered, whose are they? And whose Saarathee (charioteer) is he who is lying dead here. He is still holding whip in his hand. These marks seem to be of male Raakshas. Hey Lakshman, Now my enmity with Raakshas has grown 100 times more. Now I will destroy all of them soon. Dharm did not protect Her from Her abduction, that is why I feel that Devtaa have taken me as a weak person. No Gandharv, Kinnar, Yaksh, Pishaach, Raakshas etc will be happy onward. Lakshman, Now you see my arrows in the sky as how they stop Raakshas in skyway. I will stop all planetary bodies, I will destroy the light of Soorya and Chandramaa, I will break the mountains, I will dry the oceans and I will destroy trees. And still if Devtaa will not give me my Seetaa back in perfect condition, whether She is abducted or killed, they should all see my valor and might now.

Hey Lakshman, Now no living being will be able to fly high in the sky because of my arrows. Now Devtaa should see my wrath." Saying this Raam tied His loin skin and adjusted His Jataa (matted hair). He took His bow from Lakshman and put a fiery arrow on it to release it.
