Sarg 60-Raam's Search for Seetaa-1

When Raam was coming to His hut He missed His footing and He was repeatedly saying - "Will She be safe?" Then seeing the empty Aashram He became very sad. Raam looked in, out, and around the Aashram but couldn't find Seetaa anywhere.

At that time, in the grief of Seetaa, Raam imagined trees weeping, fruits and flowers withering and without luster. All animals were weeping. Everything is charmless and utterly shattered. Deerskins, sacred blades of grass and other mats who wanted to seetaa were in shattered and shambled state, [Which shows that Seetaa struggled a lot while Raavan was carrying Her] and seeing this Raam wept over and over again.

The lady must have been stolen [by the grudging Raakshas], or eaten away [by the same Raakshas] or  savoured [by animals] or strayed away. She might have gone to pick flowers, or to lotus lake, or to river to fetch water. Thus Raam tried effortlessly to search for Her in the forest, but He couldn't find Her.

In this condition of wailing He started asking various trees to shrubs - Kadamb, Arjun, Ashok etc; various animals - deer, elephants, etc; hills to hillocks, about Seetaa.  He wandered calling - "Hey Kadamb, Have you seen the lover of Kadamb flowers, my Seetaa? Hey Bilva tree, Have you seen my Seetaa whose skin is as soft as your leaflets, her breasts are like your round silky fruits? At least you tell me, O Arjun tree, is my Seetaa alive? O Tilak tree, You must be knowing where is my Seetaa, because She loved you very much. O Ashok tree, You can surely relive me from this worry [as your name is, Ashok means who relieves from some worry] by telling me the whereabouts of Seetaa.

O Mrigee (she-deer), You must be knowing about fawn-eyed Seetaa. Or She has herded Herself among your she-deer of yours? O tiger, you tell me, where is Maithilee, fear not, since you are brave, speak in good faith. In fact I have seen you, then why are you hiding me behind leaves? Just stsy back there only, have mercy on me.  I can see your yellow silk Saaree (a wrapper kind of cloth normally worn by Indian women) while you are hiding. It seems that Raakshas have eaten my Seetaa. Lakshman, Can you see my Seetaa? Where are you Seetey, where are you?" Thus He was wandering here and there like a mad man.

Sarg 61-Raam's Search for Seetaa-2

Seeing the hut empty Raam again said holding the shoulders of Lakshman - "Hey Lakshman, Where Vaidehee can be, or where can She go from here? Who stole away, or who might have eaten Her up? Oh Seetaa, If you are playing games with me then enough is fun, because I am very much worried about you. See these lambs (deer's children) are also weeping without you. Hey Lakshman, I will die without Seetaa.

When father will see me [in he other world], he will ask - "I sent you to exile for 14 years, How did you come here before the exile period, because whatever vow you took by my order, you did not fulfill it, that is why you are a liar." But Seetaa was nowhere to be seen. Lakshman said to Raam consoling Him - "Don't be so sad and come with me in search of Seetaa. Seetaa loved to see forest, so maybe just to scare us She might have squirreled in the forest. Or if you like us to search the whole forest, we will also do that quickly. But don't be so sad." So both started searching Seetaa. They searched Her in the forest, in caves, near river and ponds, but couldn't find Her.

Lakshman was also sad not finding Seetaa anywhere. He said again - "Hey Raam, You will find Seetaa as Vishnu got this Earth by controlling Raajaa Bali." Raam said pathetically - "We have searched all this forest, these lakes with blooming lotuses, these mountains with caves, but we haven't found Seetaa anywhere. He got very perturbed for a moment, He took long breaths, then He repeatedly cried "Haa Seetey, Haa Seetey".  Lakshman tried His best to console Raam, but Raam was not listening to Him at all and He continued cried for Seetaa.
