1-Introduction |
Introduction to V-Raamaayan 1. Introduction to V-Raamaayan Vaalmeeki Raamaayan was written by Maharshi Vaalmeeki Jee. This Raamaayan is not at all popular among public, rather most people do not even know that this Raamaayan exists and this is the original Raamaayan, because it is written in Sanskrit language. It is very different from the Raam Charit Maanas written by Goswaamee Tulasee Daas Jee. The most basic difference between them is that Vaalmeeki Raamaayan is more like a historical description; while Maanas is created by a Bhakt for his Bhagavaan. It is like a Sarovar (pond) in which Bhakt always like to drown and come up again and again. They want to go down to the bottom of the Sarovar but the Sarovar seems bottomless to them and they are not able to reach at the bottom of it. Still they don't want to come out of the Sarovar. Although at many places Vaalmeeki Jee has described many things in detail, but they never seem to be described from the view point of a Bhakt; while Maanas, as a whole, is the ocean of Bhakti and love. Tulasee Daas Jee has written it as if a Bhakt is writing about his Bhagavaan. Many Raamaayan How to Read This Raamaayan on Web?All Kaand (its sections) names are linked to their index page.
