Guru Gobind Singh
[Nov - Oct]

The tenth Guru, Teg Bahaadur's son, Guru Gobind Raaya was the tenth Guru and the last Guru of Sikh. He vowed to take his father's murder and to end Aurangzeb's tyranny. He organized his community into "Khaalasaa" ("an army of the pure") taking as new surname Singh and baptizing his closest followers with the same name.

Some Incidents of Gobind Singh's Life
(1) Once Gobind Singh Jee wanted to organize "Panj Pyaarey". So he asked five men from his army to come to him for sacrifice. Hearing this most people ran  away from there. Only five men came to him to be sacrificed. He took him in a tent. After that a cry was heard five times and people saw blood flowing from the tent. They had taken that those five people had been killed. Later they came to know that they were designated as "Panj Pyaarey" and the five cries and blood were of five goats.

(2) It is said there was one Tolaa gold in his every arrow. People asked - "You use these arrows to kill your enemies then why do you put gold in them?" He replied - "I have no enemy. I kill only Zulm (tyranny). If the person dies the gold will be used for his last rites; or if the person is only wounded he may use it for his treatment."
