Purush? Definition of Kaal Purush. Kundalinee travels in anti-zodiacal direction from Moolaadhaar Chakra to Sahasraar Chakra, like nodes. From an article "A Dialogue on Astrology" by VA Nair in old Astrological magazine kaalaangaani
varaangamaananamuro hritkrodavaasobhrit The 12 Raashi from Aries onwards represent 12 limbs of the Kaal Purush Mesh = Head Each Raashi consists of nine quarters of stars reckoning from Ashwinee. Raashi, Kshetra, Griha, Riksha, Bha and Bhaav are synonymous terms for Raashi. Disciple - "Sir, What is the advantage of ascribing different limbs to each Raashi?" Guru - "There are very many applications for this classification. For example in an horary about delivery, it can be told that the birth will be taking place in the star of the Raashi that is facing downward and is in trine to the Raashi of the Kaal Purush touched by the querist. Similarly from horoscopes we can determine well developed or underdeveloped organs by the occupation or aspect of benefic and malefic planets in the Raashi typifying the organ of Kaal Purush. Disciple - "Sir , the point is not very clear to me. Suppose the birth of a female issue is taking place when Aries Raashi is rising and there are four planets including Mercury in Scorpio which is the private part of Kaal Purush, then, will it not be necessary to decide her sex by taking those planets into consideration." Guru - "Your question is too crude indeed. Any how with my Guru's blessing I will answer your question. In the particular case as in Kaal Purush, the limbs of the Kaal Devee is to be determined by the 12 Raashi taking Aries as head, Pisces as face, Aquarius as chest and so on (ie) in the reverse order, thereby the private part will be represented by Virgo Raashi. Thus the problem will have to be solved. Disciple - "Sir according to Saravali, Raashi represent Sheersh Asya Baahu Hridaya, etc, where Gemini Raashi represents hand of Kaal Purush. Here the Aachaarya does not represent anything about hands. Does it mean that the time personified has no hands?" Guru - "Shishya, You do not apply your mind positively. If you understand the meaning in that manner your question may pose counter questions such as to how the hands remain without the shoulder or where is the neck of Kaal Purush etc. To avoid any such wrong conclusions, the Aachaarya has cleverly used the word "tha tha" before the word " Anghri Dwayam". This usage denotes that " Anghri Dwayam" includes all those parts after "Janghaa" (thigh). Similarly it has to be applied at each stage after head, face etc. Thus you will get the meaning that all the portions between the face and chest (ie) neck, shoulder, hands etc are included in the portion of the chest. The Aacharya who is keen to compose his Tantra has used six words of the same meaning in the last line to complete the Shlok. Is it justified? Shishya, it is not intended merely to tell you the synonymous words of the Raashi. The Aachaarya has indicated six words to indicate that horoscope and Prashn (queries) should be examined in six ways and the result of Shad Varg should be considered invariably. In other words, the horoscope should be considered by taking into consideration the following -- 1. Lagna
Raashiasi Similarly in
Prashn You should also note that the nine quarters of the Nakshatra implies the Navaansh division of a Raashi. Therefore it is possible to ascertain from the Navaansh Chakra the location of a planet and star in which it is posited in the Raashi chart.
