When Did Bheeshm Die?
--As per MBH, war started in month of Maargsheersh (i.e. after monsoon), when land had dried up. Bheeshm fought for 10 days. And as stated under he was on arrow bed for 58 days.
Therefore, he must have died in Maagh month.

--In MBH, Bheeshm, while lying on the bed of arrows, recited the Vishnu Sahastra Naam on Maagh Shukla 11 and that was just before his death.
--Besides, just before his demise Bheeshm said that Maagh month is completed (Samanuprapta), ie. the Maagh was over.
This shows that when he died Maagh was over and naturally Phaalgun must have started.

How could then Bheeshm die on Maagh Shukla 8, as some people claim.
Nilakantha Somayaji told some five centuries ago that Bheeshm died in Krishn Paksh of Phaalgun.
So Don't you think that these aspects are to be sorted out before one can really attempt the dating of the MBH war?
