One day a Knight came at the gates of a King's castle in a far off land.
When he reached the gates, the gate keeper came out and asked him - "Who are you?"
The Knight replied - "I am the black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the black Knight on the black horse!"
"What do you want?"
"I want to see the King."
"All right then, in you go."
So the Knight went to find the King.

When the Knight met the King, the King asked - "Who are you?"
The Knight replied "I am the black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the black Knight on the black horse!"

The King asked - "What do you want?"
The Knight replied - "I want to marry the princess."
The King replies, "In which case you need to get the gold ring from the Red Dragon."

So the Knight went to find the Red Dragon.
On meeting him, the Red Dragon asked - "Who are you?"
The Knight replied, "I am the black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the Black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the Black Knight on the black horse!"

The Red Dragon asked - "What do you want?"
The Knight said - "I want the gold ring."
"All right, there you go," said the dragon, throwing it over.
The Knight then galloped back to the castle.

As he arrived, he again came to the gatekeeper.
The gatekeeper asked him - "Who are you?"
The Knight replied "I am the Black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the Black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the Black Knight on the black horse!"
The gatekeeper asked - "What do you want?"
The Knight said - "I want to see the King."
The gatekeeper said - "All right then, in you go."
So the Knight went to find the King.

When they met, the King asked, "Who are you?"
The Knight replied, "I am the Black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the Black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the Black Knight on the black horse!"
"What do you want?" "I want to marry the princess."
The King replied, "Have you got the gold ring from the Red Dragon?"
"Yes."
The King replied - "In which case, you need to get the silver
ring from the Yellow Dragon."
So the Knight proceeds to find the Yellow Dragon.

On meeting him, the Dragon said - "Who are you?"
The Knight replied - "I am the Black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the black Knight on the black horse!"
The Yellow Dragon asked - "What do you want?"
The Knight said - "I want the silver ring."
"All right, there you go," said the dragon, throwing it over.
The Knight then galloped back to the castle.

As he came back to the castle, he again met the gatekeeper.
The gate-keeper then asked - "Who are you?"
The Knight replied - "I am the Black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the black Knight on the black horse!"
The gatekeeper asked - "What do you want?"
The Knight said - "I want to see the King."
"All right then, in you go."
So the Knight went to find the King.

When they met, the King asked him - "Who are you?"
The Knight replied, "I am the Black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the Black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the Black Knight on the black horse!"
The King asked - "What do you want?"
The Knight replied - "I want to marry the Princess."
The King replies, "Have you got the gold ring from the Red Dragon?"
"Yes."
"Have you got the silver ring from the Yellow Dragon?"
"Yes."
The King replied, "In which case, you need to get the ruby ring from the Purple Dragon."

So the Knight went to find the Purple Dragon.
On meeting him, the Dragon said - "Who are you?"
The Knight replied - "I am the Black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the black Knight on the black horse!"
The Dragon asked - "What do you want?"
The Black Knight replied - "I want the ruby ring"
"All right, there you go," says the dragon, throwing it over.
The Knight then galloped back to the castle.

As he came back to the castle, he met the gatekeeper.
The gatekeeper then said - "Who are you?"
The Knight replied, "I am the Black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the Black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the Black Knight on the black horse!"
The gatekeeper asked him - "What do you want?"
The Black Knight replied - "I want to see the King."
"All right then, in you go."

So the Knight went to find the King.
When they met, the King said, "Who are you?"
The Knight replied, "I am the Black Knight on the black horse?"
"Not the Black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the Black Knight on the black horse!"
The King asked him - "What do you want?"
The Black Knight replied - "I want to marry the Princess."

The King said - "Have you got the gold ring from the Red Dragon?"
"Yes."
"Have you got the silver ring from the Yellow Dragon?"
"Yes."
"Have you got the ruby ring from the Purple Dragon?"
"Yes."
"In which case you will find my daughter in her room."

So the Knight galloped to the Princess' room.
Upon meeting him, the Princess exclaimed - "Who are you?"
The Knight replied - "I am the Black Knight on the black horse."
"Not the Black Knight on the black horse?"
"Yes, the Black Knight on the black horse!"
The Princess asked him - "What do you want?"
The Knight said - "I want to ask you a question."
The Princess said - "Well go on then."
"Will you marry me?"
"NO"
