Tidbits-91

Never praise yourself from your own tongue, nor say anything bad about anybody. It is not good to criticize others actions. Who has taken what course of action with what purpose, this is not our job to judge. We should leave it on him only.

All faults can be forgiven but not pride and cheating.

All types of progress depend on high character and high character is built on developing good qualities, and this development of good qualities helps spiritual development.

How human beings are different from an animal?
(1) Human beings have Buddhi, (wisdom or intellect) by which they can ascertain what is good or what is bad for them.
(2) Human beings have choices, while animals have no choice. They live with their instincts (of course the facility of choice come through choice (which comes through Buddhi), and this facility of choice is the lonesome reason of their sorrows.
(3) Only human beings know that they have to die one day - a fact of life, still hardest to bear and to comprehend.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could have done. There is a great deal of freedom in thinking that you could do no more. There is a great deal of success awaiting a person who gives her all he has, no matter what.

When a friend needs to talk, resist the urge to give advice right away and just listen. Ask questions and really try to understand answers. When a customer is talking, never say a word about your product until you fully understand his needs. When your spouse is hurting, it is not the time to prove that you were right. Over the period you will understand when to speak and when to shut your mouth tight.

Neither mother, nor son, nor relatives, nor dear friends even when solicited with honors, accompany the man that dies. To the regions of Yam one has to go oneself, unaccompanied by anyone. Only those deeds, good and bad, that one did before death accompany the man that goes to the other world.
