Sarg 127-Raam Meets Bharat

Bharat asked his brother Shatrughn to order for worshipping in all the temples with musical instruments. All people should go out of the city to welcome Raam. Shatarughn repaired all paths, adorned Ayodhyaa with flags and ordered that all houses, paths and palaces must be cleaned and decorated before sunrise. All royal employees, chariots with soldiers should go to welcome Raam.

Bharat was very weak because of fasting at the time he went to see Raam keeping His Paadukaa on His head. He was very happy. Conches were blown, various musical instruments were played. It was difficult for Bharat to pass time of wait for Raam. Hanumaan said - "I can hear Vaanar's sounds which indicates that they are crossing Gomatee River. Bharadwaaj Muni asked Him to stay there that is why they are late.

And they saw Raam's Vimaan landed on the ground. Bharat worshipped Raam, Raam hugged Bharat, Bharat greeted Lakshman and Seetaa and embraced chief Vaanar. All Vaanar were in human form. Sugreev was introduced as their fifth brother. Embracing Vibheeshan, Bharat said - "It is only because of your help that Raam could do such a great work." Raam greeted His mothers by touching their feet. Then he came to Purohit Jee. Purohit Jee blessed Him. Bharat returned His Paadukaa and said - "Now you take care of your Paadukaa yourself because I am now unable to bear its load. Raam went to Bharat's Aashram and sent Vimaan back to Kuber.

Sarg 128-Raam's Raajya Abhishek

Bharat said to Raam - "You gave me this kingdom honoring my mother, therefore as you gave me at that time, I return it to you now as it is. As a crow cannot copy a swan, I cannot copy you. We are only to obey the orders. Therefore today I want to see your Raajya Abhishek. You rule until these Prithvi, Aakaash, Sun, Moon and stars are there." Raam accepted his request.

Lakshman, Sugreev, Vibheeshan etc took bath. Raam got His Jataa cleaned and took bath with sweet smelling materials, put on jewelry. Mothers adorned Seetaa and other Vaanar women. Saarathee brought chariot, so Raam went with Sugreev and Hanumaan. Seetaa also went out to see the city with Vaanar women.

Ministers, Purohit etc got busy in making arrangements for Raam's Raajya Abhishek. Raam's chariot was driven by Bharat. Shatrughn took care of royal umbrella. All Devtaa were praying at that time. Lakshman was shaking Chanvar, Vibheeshan was also holding another royal umbrella. Sugreev was riding an elephant. All were going through city's roads.

Raam came to His father's palace, greeted His mothers and said to Bharat - "Show my palace to Sugreev." So Shatrughn made the arrangements of Sugreev's stay there. Then Bharat asked Sugreev to get four pitchers of sea water. Sugreev ordered his chief Vaanar and they soon brought it carefully. Purohit asked Seetaa and Raam to sit on an Aasan and did their Abhishek with all medicinal juices. Vashishth Jee put gem-studded crown on Raam's head. At that time Shatrughn held white umbrella on Raam's head, Sugreev and Vibheeshan took Chanvar, Vaayu offered a pearl necklace to Raam by the order of Indra. Apsaraa started dancing, all trees bloomed.

Raam donated 100,000 horses and cows and 100 bulls to Braahman. He gave 300 billion (30 Crores) gold coins also to Braahman. Raam gave a gem-studded chain to Sugreev, gem-studded Baajooband (an ornament to be worn on upper part of elbow) to Angad, one string of pearls with shiny gems and many clothes and jewelry to Seetaa. Seetaa took that pearl string off Her neck, looked repeated towards monkeys and Raam. Raam understood Her mind so he said to Seetaa - "Give the pearl-necklace to a person, with whom you are pleased and in whom the following viz. sharpness, firmness, renown, dexterity, competence, modesty, prudence, virility, prowess and intelligence are ever present." Seetaa gave that string to Hanumaan and Hanumaan took it and wore it in his neck. By wearing it he was shining like thousands of rays of the Moon. Raam then gave gems to Maind, Dwivid and Neel. Raam then honored Vibheeshan, Sugreev, Hanumaan and Jaambvaan. All went back happily as happily they came.

Thus Raam bade farewell to all Vaanar. All Vaanar came back to Kishkindhaa. Vibheeshan also went back to Lankaa. After all went back to their places, Raam said to Lakshman - "You are the eldest among your brothers, so help me to rule." When Lakshman did not accept the crown king's status then He appointed Bharat as crown king. Raam ruled for 10,000 years, did many Yagya - Pundareek, Ashwamedh, Vaajpeya etc. he ruled for 10,000 years. He performed 100 Ashwamedh Yagya Raam ruled with Lakshman as His companion. No woman was widow, nobody fell sick and all had long age in His times. Animals did not each other. In those days people lived for thousands of years with thousands of children - all free from illness and grief. Thus Raam passed 10,000 years

This poetry has been written by Vaalmeeki Jee. Whoever hear this Kathaa their all wishes are fulfilled. Whoever kings hear this Kathaa they get victory over their enemies, and whoever women hear this Kathaa with the bottom of their heart, they give birth to sons like Raam, Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughn. All human beings' sins are washed away after hearing this holy poetry.
