Sarg 55-Raavan Requests Seetaa to Become His Wife

After sending those eight warriors to Janasthaan, Raavan got amused that he had accomplished a great job. Then he returned to Seetaa to lay up on his eyes on Her. There he saw Seetaa weeping amidst Raakshasee. She was very sad. So Raavan showed such sad Seetaa his palace which was comparable to any paradisiacal palace. it had innumerable skyscrapers, adored by thousands of women and visited by thousands of various birds. He showed Her those pillars which were made of gem-studded gold, silver and quartz and on which ivory and gilt work was done. One could hear the sound like divine drums all around. Raavan took Seetaa on stairs and showed Her the windows which were made of ivory and silver  He showed Her various floors of his palace, ponds and other houses. 

After showing Her his best palace, he said to Her - "Hundred million (10 Crore) Raakshas are here, 220 million (22 Crore) are there. Thus I am the king of 320 million Raakshas omitting the weak, old, young. 1,000 Raakshas rush for my single work. O beautiful, All of them are yours. You are dearer to me more than my life. You be the empress over my all queens, if you accept me as your husband. Show compassion on me as I have a burning desire for you.

Even Devtaa cannot dare to attack my kingdom. I don't see anybody as mighty as myself among sages, Devtaa, Yaksh, Gandharv etc. What you will do with that Tapaswee. Drop His thoughts and enjoy life with me. My life span is seamless. It is beyond His capacity that He can come here and take you from here. So forget Him. [Raavan as devotee of Lakshmee, says that you be happy here, soon Raam will come and take you because we have our own dealings, so why do you care? Live here happily and you will see Him soon.]

Hey Seetey, You rule on this kingdom. Everybody will obey your orders, so be happy, adorn yourself with good clothes and jewelry and enjoy yourself riding on this Vimaan (Pushpak Vimaan)." [Here Raavan offers everything including the results of his good deeds and surrenders himself in the service of Lakshmee Jee.]

Raavan was saying all this and Seetaa was crying covering Her face with a cloth. Raavan again said to Seetaa - "Let my ten hands massage your two feet. Do me this favor because I am your servant. Please be pleased with me." After saying this Raavan thought that Seetaa was his.

Sarg 56-Seetaa-Raavan Dialog

Seetaa put a blade of straw in between Raavan and Herself and said to Raavan fearlessly - "O wicked Raakshas, Pious Raam who is the son of righteous Dasharath is truthful. Tri-Lok knows about it. He is the ornament of Ikshwaaku family. He is very gracious and has broad shoulders. As He will come, He will kill you. If you had tried to abduct me in His presence, he would have killed you like Khar. Whatever Raakshas you have talked about, they don't mean anything to Raam like snakes become without poison in front of Garud. Maybe you cannot be killed by Devtaa or Raakshas but Raam will surely kill you. If Raam will look at you with anger you will just burn as Kaam Dev was burned down by Shiv Jee, because He can dry the whole ocean with His anger. Your sovereignty, prosperity, faculties of brain all are gone just only by one deed - touching other man's wife.

By molesting me you are making preparations not only for your destruction but also your whole clan and your all queens. It is impossible for a profaner to heavily tread at the Altar of Fire. (Read the Note on Chaandaal here] Hey Raavan, My husband lives in Dandak Van fearlessly with His younger brother. O wicked, You can't even touch me because Raaj Hansinee (she-swan) enjoys only with Raaj Hans (swan) in lotus garden, she cannot live with crows. Now whatever you want to do with this body you may do it, because I do not want to live any more." And Seetaa got silent.

Raavan said to Her - "If you do not accept me within 12 months time then my cooks will cut you into pieces and cook you as a meal. [see 12 Months Time here]. You may think over during this period." Then he said to his terrifying Raakshasee - "Now you terrify Seetaa and cool down Her pride. Take Her to Ashok Vaatikaa and try to control Her through fear and love. Guard Her all the time." [Only threaten Her, not frighten Her so much that She dies and guard Her all the time for She is my Lakshmee Devee].

Raakshasee took Her to Ashok Vaatikaa. That Vaatika had many trees which were full of fruits and flowers all the time and it was full of birds. Seetaa started living here, but She was not happy there. She always remembered Raam and Lakshman.

Dasharath
Dasharath means the charioteer of ten chariots or who can handle ten chariots together. Seetaa mentions about him that Raam is the son of such a man and you are the charioteer of only one chariot that is lust. So how do you compare yourself to Raam?
