Lakshman who overheard the conversation of Raam and Seetaa because He had already come there from Kaushalyaa's palace so He also fell on Raam's feet and insisted that He would also go to forest with them. Raam tried to persuade Him to stay back but all in vain. Lakshman said - "If you will go to forest full of elephants and antelopes then I will go in front of you. You will hear sounds of many animals and birds traveling with me. Without you I don't want to ascend to Swarg, or the sovereignty over the globe or even immortality." Raam again tried to convince him to stay back, but Lakshman said - "In fact I have already been permitted to go with you, then why do you forbid me now? Raam said - "Lakshman, You are very religious and dear to me that is why you stay here and take care of Maa Kaushalyaa and Sumitraa. Raajaa is favorable to Kaikeyee under the spell of love, and Bharat will also be obedient to his mother, because she is his mother. In such situation Kaikeyee, the daughter of Ashwapati, will not her co-wives. Therefore Hey Lakshman, you live here according to Bharat and serve our mothers. Your righteousness will also be proved like this. Our mothers will not be happy after we have gone to forest. Lakshman said - "Hey Raam, By your grace Bharat will take care of mothers himself. Maa Kaushalyaa owns thousands of villages therefore she can take care of herself and my mother and thousands of people like myself. You don't worry about all this, just permit me to be your servant. I will collect everything for you in forest and I will go in front of you to protect you and to guide you. When you will be enjoying yourself, I will do all your work." Raam got happy to hear Lakshman, so He said - "Take your mother's permission and come along with me. Raajaa Janak gave us two bows, which he obtained from Varun at a Yagya, divine impenetrable armors, inexhaustible quivers, two swords decked with gold and shining like Sun. They are all at Aachaary Vashishth's place. bring them from there and come back soon." Lakshman took permission from his relatives and friends, took weapons from Guru Vashishth's Aashram and came back soon. Raam said - "It is good that you came in time. I along with you, want to donate my money to Braahman and to those high Braahman who live at Guru's Aashram and those who always expect protection from us. Therefore you call Suyagya, Vashishth's son, and bring all others here, first I will worship them, then I will go to forest." Sarg 32-Raam Donates His Wealth Lakshman brought Suyagya soon. Suyagya saw Raam's palace which had lots of jewelry and was jewels studded. Raam and Seetaa welcomed him and worshipped him. Raam adorned Suyagya with gold Angad (armlets), beautiful gem-studded gold ear-rings and gold Keyoor (like armlet but worn above it near the armpit), bracelets and many other precious stones. Then on the urge of Seetaa Raam said to him - "Seetaa wants to give your wife a pearl necklace, a gold chain, and a girdle, please accept them. Seetaa is going to forest, that is why She is also giving these armlets, Keyoor for your wife. She is giving you this jewel-studded bed too with beautiful cover. This is the elephant given by my Maamaa (mother's brother), that also I give to you along with other 1,000 elephants." Braahman accepted Raam's wealth, blessed them and wished all of them good luck. Raam said to Lakshman - "Call Muni Agastya and Kaushik and worship them with jewels. Give them thousands of cows, gold, silver and jewels and please the Aachaarya of Taittireeya, the knower of Ved, who is serving Kaushalyaa, by giving him chariots and maidservants and many silken clothes until he is satisfied." Raam gave many jewels, clothes, small animals and thousands of cows to old charioteer Chitrarath who was of very long standing to His father Dasharath. He gave thousands of cows and she-goats to Brahmchaaree of Kath and Kalaap branches of Yajur Ved; and the ones who spend their time in study, don't go even to ask for Bhikshaa (alms) and do not crave for sweets. He gave them 80 carts filled with jewels and 1,000 bullocks loaded with with Dhaan (raw rice). There were some Brahmchaaree at Kaushalyaa's palace, He gave them 1,000 cows each as Dakshinaa. Raam said to Lakshman - "Lakshman, Worship all these Braahman methodically and satisfy them with Dakshinaa, so that my mother is happy to see it." Lakshman obeyed Him. Raam asked His treasurer to send His wealth to His palace. So he did, and Lakshman distributed that wealth among the best Braahman as instructed. Then Raam said to all - "Till I return from exile my house belongs to Lakshman, and the house will be guarded by each of you turn by turn. There was a Garg Gotree (from Garg's family so red in color) Braahman in Ayodhyaa, named Trijataa. He had no means of living. When he was going to forest carrying axe, his wife said - "Leave everything here and go to the palace of Raam. You might get something from there." So he went there clad in torn clothes in a very pitiable condition and went to Raam. Up to the fifth gate nobody topped him. He was equal to Rishi Bhrigu and Angiraa in splendor. He said to Raam - "Mahaaraaj, I am a very poor Braahman. I have many children but no means of living, please be kind to me." Raam jokingly gave him a stick and said - "Throw this stick as far as you can and whatever number of cows will come in that land, they all will be yours." He tied his loin cloth hurriedly and threw his stick as far as he could, excited as he was. It fell crossing all thousands of cows near Sarayoo River. So Raam satisfied him giving all cows and said - "Don't be angry at throwing the stick. It was just a joke. But if you still want anything more, tell me, I will give it to you. There is no limitation. Whatever riches belong to me is indeed for Braahman." Braahman and his wife praised Raam a lot for getting so much. Raam distributed the rest of His wealth among His friends. At that time there was nobody who was not satisfied with honor, gifts and respect He offered to them.
