Kripaachaarya Jee is a Mahaabhaarat character. He is in the lineage of Maharshi Mudgal and his daughter Ahalyaa. Maharshi Mudgal had a twins - a son named Divodaas and a daughter named Ahalyaa. Ahalyaa was married to Maharshi Gautam. Gautam's son was Shataanand (Raajaa Janak's Purohit). Shataanand's son was Satyadhriti, and his son was Sharadwaan.

Kripaachaarya was the son of Muni Sharadwaan and the Apsaraa Urvashee. Once Muni Sharadwaan saw Urvashee and his semen dropped on a bush of Moonj (a type of grass which is used to make ropes and mats to sit up on). Seeing this Sharadwaan Muni left his Kamandal there only and ran away from there. The semen was divide into two because of the Moonj grass and it caused to born one son and one daughter. Urvashee also left for Swarg leaving those children on Earth.

Once Raajaa Shaantanu was out in that forest for hunting and he found these children lying on a Kush Aasan along with a Kamandal lying nearby. That is how he could know that they were some Braahman's children. So he brought them home and gave them to his Raaj Guru to bring them up. He called them Kripaa and Kripee because he got them from Braahman's Kripaa (kindness). Later when Kripaa grew up, he became the Kul Guru of Kaurav-Paandav families. He married Kripee to Dronaachaarya. Sharadwaan came to know that his son was growing in the palace of Shaantanu, so he went there in disguise and taught him all four kinds of military arts and made him skilled in it. Thus he was trained by his own father. His story is given in MBH, G-1-Beginning/10.

Kripaachaarya also fought in Mahaabhaarat war. He fought from  from Duryodhan's side. Since he was immortal, he was not killed. In the last he surrendered and went for Tap. Later he was appointed as the teacher of Pareekshit.
