9-Avadhootopaakhyaan (3)-Story of Seven Guru From Kurar to Bhringee

(18) Kurar Bird - Dattaatreya Jee further spoke - "Whatever things are dear to man, to collect them is the only cause of their sorrow. Whoever is intelligent, he never collects anything physically, not even from his heart. There was a Kurar bird who had a meat piece in his beak. At that time the other birds who did not have food to eat, so they attacked him to take that food. Then he threw that piece away and got relieved from their attack.

(19) Child - A child does not worry about respect or insult and whatever worries are to a household, he does not have them also, because he does not have a family. He is happy with himself. This I have learned from a child. Therefore I live with no worries like him. There are only two types of people who are always worry-free and always joyous - one an innocent child and two that man who is beyond three Gun.

(20) Unmarried Girl - This I have learnt from an unmarried girl. Once some people came to see a girl for marriage. Her all family members had gone out on that day, so she had to entertain them herself. She started beating rice for their food in a lonely room. At that time her shell bangles started making noise. She did not like that noise [because it showed that they were so poor that she herself had to beat the rice]. So she broke all the bangles except two in each hand. But still they made noise. So she broke one more bangle from each hand. Now there was no sound. I learned from that, that when there are many people, there is a quarrel, and when there are two people, [although they will not quarrel] still they will talk at least, therefore one should live alone like the bangle of that maiden.

(21) Arrow-maker - I have learned from arrow-maker that after controlling one's breath (Shwaas), one should control his  mind through Vairaagya (detachment) and practice and then meditate at one aim. Gradually when one's mind stabilizes in Paramaatmaa then he does not like to do Karm. By increasing Sat Gun and leaving Rajo and Tamo Gun, mind becomes peaceful as fire subsides without wood. I saw an arrow-maker who was so busy in his work that even the Raajaa's procession passed by his side and he did not know that it passed.

(22) Snake - I have learned from snake that a Sanyaasee should live alone. He should not gather people around him and certainly he should not establish any Math. He should live alone, should not be angry, may live in a cave and should not be recognized by his outward behavior, should not take help from anybody, and speak as little as possible. Building a house for this mortal body is the root of all sorrows. A snake lives happily in houses built by others.

(23) Spider - Now you listen to the teaching of spider. The omnipotent Bhagavaan destroyed this Universe through His own Kaal Power in the previous Kalp; created through His own Maayaa without any help again, and still remained alone. Everything rests in Him but He Himself rests in Himself only. He does not depend on anything. He has no simile. The same Prabhu first creates Mahat-Tattwa (Action Power Sootra) before creating Kshobh in His three Gun Maayaa. This Sootra is the first manifestation of three Gun, and the same is the root cause of the whole Universe. This whole Universe is woven in that Sootra like threads are weaved in a cloth, and because of this only, Jeev is stuck in birth and death cycle. As spider weaves its web from its heart through its mouth, and then swallows it all, in the same way Parameshwar creates the Universe from Himself, enjoys it in the form of Jeev, and then absorbs it within Himself.

(24) Bhringee (An Insect) - Bhringee has taught me that if a being desires for something knowingly, intentionally, be it with love, jealousy or fear, then he gets its Swaroop (form). As Bhringee takes an insect and shuts it off in his living place, then the arrested insect thinks only about Bhringee from fear and becomes Bhringee himself without leaving its present body.

So Hey Raajan, I have learned these things from these Guru. Now I tell you about what I have learned from my own body, listen to it attentively. It teaches me Gyaan (knowledge) and Vairaagya (detachment). Birth and death are along with it. It means that if we hold on to this body then we have to bear sorrows.  Although it helps to think about Tattwa (elements) still I never consider it mine, because I always think that it is not mine, it belongs to wild animals. [They will eat it when I am dead.] That is why I roam around as A-Sang [who is not attached to anything].

To please whatever body he takes, this Jeev is always busy in desiring many things, does Karm and collects wealth with great difficulty, the same body is destroyed after its time is completed. As many co-wives pull their one husband towards them, in the same way, its many Indriyaan also pull the single Jeev towards them - tongue towards tasty food, ears towards sweet music, nose towards sweet smell etc. Although Bhagavaan created many Yoni (species), but he did not get satisfied with them, then he created Manushya Yoni (human being). This body had Buddhi (wisdom, and logic) which could see Brahm. He got very happy to create this Yoni. Although this body is destructible but still one can attain Paramaarth and Moksh through this body. Therefore an intelligent person should attain the Moksh before this body is destructed. Mokash is the main objective of this body, because pleasures can be achieved in many other Yoni, but Moksh can be attained only in this Yoni. Therefore one should not waste this valuable Yoni in enjoying pleasures. Thinking thus I took Vairaagya. Neither I love anything, nor I am proud of anything."

Krishn said to Uddhav - " So dear Uddhav, Avadhoot Dattaatreya told thus Raajaa Yadu. Raajaa Yadu worshipped him and Dattaatreya went away."
