Prashn Method is a very specific method of prediction when a person comes
to an astrologer without any chart to ask the answer of any specific question.
So in this system, the astrologer immediately constructs a Time Chart and
answers the questioner from that chart only. He checks only two Houses in
this system - 1st House is for the questioner and the second House is for
the question.
Benefics in the Lagna Bhaav (1st House) denote that he is a true questioner
and he has the real urge of knowing the answer of his query. Shakespeare has
said - "The cheek is apter than the tongue to tell an errand." It
means truth makes the face of a person shine who speaks. It is the 2nd House
which governs the face and also the tongue. Sub-Lord of the 2nd Cusp should be
considered here for verification.........
How to Query the Astrologer?
Bhattotpal is the author of "Prashn Gyaan". He had commented on Varaah
Mihir's work and this text deals with one of the branch of astrology called Horary
astrology. Bhattotpal has suggested many rules for consultants and astrologers in
his text. Meaning of relevant verse No.4 is given here for the sake of information.
He says - "The consultant should pray with Bhakti then only, come out with
his problems and put queries to the astrologer." Sage Neelkanth further suggests
that astrologer should check whether the consultant has approached him with the sincere
ideas of placing his problem and then requesting the astrologer to solve them or he
has come just to test him or put some questions casually. Only when the consultant is
serious and sincere, then only truth will come out; prediction will prove to be
correct....
How to Answer the Question (By KP System) - Rotating the Chart
But if you talk about the present day clientele, they don't show anything in their
cheek; sit like stooges and expect the astrologer to tell them everything. So better
read his mind than the face. If the 3rd CSL of the Prashn chart is Saturn or in the
star of Saturn, the natal is lying; if the same is Mars or in the Mars's star, he is
mischievous.
Still the following method may be adopted --
(1) Take that House which represents the relationship, eg take the 9th House for Father
and Strangers.
(2) Will my 3rd son build the house? - The number given by the querist shows his Lagna,
eg the query is about the 3rd son. The 1st child is shown by the 5th House counted
from Lagna; younger brother or sister is shown by 3rd House from Lagna - thus the
2nd child is shown by 3rd to the 5th House (means the 7th House from Lagna); and
the Lagna of the 3rd child is shown by the 9th House.
(3) Can I gain in Lottery? -
If the query is about himself (the querist, relative or friend), make all calculations from Lagna;
if it is younger brother or sister, make all calculations from the 3rd House from the
Lagna considering it as Lagna;
if it is mother, take the 4th House from the Lagna considering it as Lagna
If it is son or daughter, take the 5th House from the Lagna considering it as Lagna
if it is wife or partner, take the 8th House from the Lagna considering it as Lagna
if it is father, take the 9th House from the Lagna considering it as Lagna
if it is elder brother take the 11th House from the Lagna considering it as Lagna
(4) Another example, if somebody's some thing is stolen --
--7th House will indicate spouse whose property has been stolen and the 1st House indicates the thief
--3rd House will indicate the younger brother whose property has been stolen and the9th House indicates
the thief
--4th House will indicate the mother whose property has been stolen and the 10th House indicates
the thief
--5th House will indicate the son whose property has been stolen and 11th the House indicates
the thief
--6th House will indicate the maternal uncle whose property has been stolen and the 12th House
indicates the thief
--9th House will indicate the father whose property has been stolen and the 3rd House indicates
the thief
Further property lost will be judged by the 2nd, 6th, 11th Houses counted from the houses indicating
the thief.
