Kaali Daas
--Jyotirvid Aabharan -
Jyotirvid Aabharan is the only text which indicates that
Raghuvansh, Kumaarsambhav and Meghdoot were written by Kaali Daas, not
stated in those texts themselves. The 3 epics are being
taught as Kaali Daas work on that basis only for 2000 years with
commentaries by Malla Naath etc.

Paraashar
--Paraashar Horaa Shaastra (BPHS) -
Bhrigu Sanhitaa and Naadee Granth should be treated as its Appedices. It is not
invention of Paraashar, he clearly
mentioned in initial verses of second part of BPHS that he merely repeated what the earlier sages had said
R Santhanam

Hindu Astrology - dedicated a chapter on Rectification in
his widely acclaimed
book, "Essentials of Predictive Hindu Astrology".
Ramadeen Daivagya.
--Brihat Daivajna Ranjan - Is an excellent book on astrology
written in 19th century, that provides us with numerous quotes from
ancient Rishi Horaa some of them
available and many are lost. Just like
the excellent authentic texts of North Indian origin like Hora Ratna and
Muhoort Chintaamani I love this text as well. This text is
a treasure
house. A quote by Sage Romak that refers to Taajik system of astrology can
be found in this text.
SK Mehta
He has been termed as The Guaranteed Astrologer - as he use

them on Google - only 3 books are written by him.

Shiv and Gauree
--Shiv Gauree Jaatak -
ePublished by AIAF. Order Your copies at
sreesog@yahoo.com Rs.200/-
($4) This school of thought considers Shiv as the originator of astrology.
As per them Shiv taught this branch of knowledge to goddess Paarvatee and
she taught others. Texts such as Shiv Jataak, Gauree Jataka, Jyotisharnav
Navaneetam, Shambhoo Horaa Prakaash etc. are the available books of this
tradition.
Shiv Jaatak - written as conversation between Shiv and Paarvatee.
Paarvatee asks and Shiv replies.
Gauree Jaatak - written as in the form of Gauree’s (Paarvatee’s) teaching
to the world, based on things she learned from Shiv.
Jyotisharnav Navaneetam - written in the form of a conversation between
Shiv and Paarvatee. Paarvatee asks and Shiv replies.
Shambhoo Horaa Prakaash - a treatise by a scholar named Punjaraja to
please a king named ‘Shambhoo’ (of Maalavaa kingdom), based on the
teachings of Shiv-Paarvatee, the earlier sages and the later day scholars.
It is based on Som Siddhaant which was told by Shiv to Durgaa. The other
is the Brahmaa Siddhaant which was created by Brahmaa. The third was
spoken by Soorya and is known as Saur (or Soorya) Siddhaant. Vaasishth,
Paulish, Lomash and Paaraasarya Siddhaant (are other Siddhaant) which are
named after the relevant Aachaarya. These are said to be the seven
Siddhaant and are filled with explicit and implicit secret teachings.
1. In almost every
quote Shiv Jaatak presents something new that is not found anywhere else.
2. Shiv Jaatak is probably first text of Shiv School of astrology, or at
least brings the fragrance of the ancient ‘Shiv School of Astrology’ to
us.
3. It does not repeat the once told things, but instead presents something
new, and thus has freshness in perspective.
4. It is praised even by texts like BPHS, when it comes to the excellent
Dashaa systems like ‘Vinshottaree Dashaa’ or the time tested principles
related to ‘Baal Arisht’ (child longevity).
5. A text attributed to Shiv, who is also worshiped in the form of
‘Dakshinamoorti’ the spiritual teacher to the enlightened souls, the
teacher of everything, the Taantrik deity of teaching similar to
Saraswatee (Shaaradaa).
Shreepati (11th century AD)
No scholar before Shreepati
(11th century) has ever spoken about Houses as different from Signs.
Varaah Mihir (some say that he was
in the 1st century BC, some say he was in 6th century AD)
--Brihat Jaatak - the book was published by Sagar Publishers with the translation
of HK Tite and is available at
http://shopping.shreevedic.com/newshree/Hora%20Makarand.
He did not depend on one work like Horaa Makarand by Gunaakar to
prepare Jaatak. Brihat Jaatak is more in depth,
complex, multi-meaning, based on previous Rishi Horaa. On reading both the books
it will become well evident that Horaa
Makarand was written based on Brihat
Jaatak and that it is not the other way round. This is impossible if Gunaakar lived in 6th century BC and Mihir lived in 1st century BC.
--Brihat Sanhitaa (6th century AD)
--Hora Shastra - Good to start with.
--Laghu Vivaaah Paataal - is ePublished. This is an
excellent work Varaah Mihir of 6th century AD, which remained unpublished
till date with a proper translation and commentary. A4 Size. 52 pages.
eBook price : Rs.150/- ($3). The book contain Sanskrit Shlok along with
translation and commentary and are co-authored by Veneet Kumar and
Sreenadh OG, and contain rare info that you won't find anywhere else.
