32-Reading List for Lal Kitab system Important : Studying Lal Kitab would be meaningful only if you are a good scholar of Vedic Astrology. I have yet to see a good Lal Kitab scholar who is not equally proficient in Vedic astrology. Books in Hindi
[1] ‘ Lal Kitab Jyotish – Prashthabhoomi aur Vyakhya’ -- By : Pt. Krishna Ashant
[2] ‘Trik Bhavanon ki gatha’ -- By Pt. Krishna Ashant and Amrita Preetam After having read these two books move on to :
[1] Lal Kitab, teesra hissa [ 1941 ed ] -- Transliterated by : Pt. Yograj Prabhakar
[2] ‘Arun Sanhita’ [ 1942 ed ]
[3] Arun Sanhita [ 1952 ed ] [It is quite possible that an authentic transliterations of both these books (1942 and 1952 editions) may be available in the market after a few months] You could also read the following book available in Hindi : 'Lal Kitab aur Kashta Nivaran’ -- by Pt. Sumat Prasad Lal Kitab 1939 ed -- By Goswami Lal Kitab 1940 ed -- (ii) By Umesh Sharma & Vashishtha Books in English : [1] Start with Pt. Krishna Ashant’s
book. It is a translation of the above book [the 1st one] in English. [2] ‘ Lal Kitab’ -- By : Prof U C Mahajan [3] ‘ Lal Kitab – system of progression and creative
measure’ -- by : R S Chillar [4] Lal Kitab 1952 ed translated in English by :
-- Vashishtha & Goswami In Delhi most of these books will be available with the book sellers on Nai Sarak , Chandni Chowk. Or at : K K Goyal & co 214, Dariba Kalan, Delhi -6 Ph: 23253604 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lal Kitab is not a name of one single book. There are five books published during 1939 to 1952 and written by Pt Roop Chand Joshi. One need to read all those books to understand Lal Kitab in detail. In my opinion 1952 edition is the most exhaustive and must be the first book to be read by all Lal Kitab enthusiasts. 1952 edition also covers most of the content in other books. The best transliteration for 1952 edition is available in the form of "Arun Sanhita", published by Hare Krishna Trust, Chandigarh. For further reading, I would suggest reading books in following sequence -
(1) 1942 edition (Lal Kitab - Tarmeem Shuda): Hindi transliteration of 1942
edition by Pt. Beni Madhav Goswami is available from Durga Pocket Books. Two other recommended books are Both of above books are good, but have some serious shortcomings. For example, reasoning behind remedies is flawed in both the books. So wherever these authors are explaining the working of Lal Kitab remedies, those sections should be ignored. Also Pt. Ashant book's section of background of Lal Kitab does not seems to be correct where he questions the authorship of Pt. Roop Chand Joshi. To say it again, we should use these books with caution.
